El estadounidense Jeremiah Peterson consiguió cambiar su físico por completo en solo cinco meses y, según asegura, haciendo “lo que más amaba”.

Pasó de superar los 130 kilos a rondar los 90 en apenas 152 días, un reto que logró gracias a una baja en los carbohidratos y a retomar viejos hábitos relacionados con el deporte y la vida saludable.

Su adicción por el trabajo (es el dueño de un local de venta de antigüedades en Montana), había provocado que abandonara sus prácticas deportivas de cuando dedicaba gran parte de su tiempo a ejercer como personal trainer.

Peterson cuenta que “su chip cambió a los 40 años”, justo en un momento en el que se dio cuenta de que no podía seguir el ritmo de sus hijos de ocho y diez años en sus caminatas por el campo.

“En una excursión por las montañas con mi familia tuve una especie de revelación. Me encontraba sin aliento y con dolores en el pecho cuando reflexioné sobre cómo había cambiado mi vida, decidí cambiar de hábitos”, confesó Peterson.

Dieta y cero alcohol

Jeremiah cambió sus hábitos alimenticios al reducir los carbohidratos y eliminar por completo la ingesta de alcohol. Luego sumó el deporte que tanto extrañaba. Comenzó con ejercicios al aire libre. “Caminé todas las mañanas y todas las tardes con mi perro como cuando era chico”, comentó y remarcó que las caminatas podía durar hasta 40 minutos.

Semanas después, fue sumando progresivamente rutinas de gimnasio, que consistían en el levantamiento de pesas durante una hora al día, entre otros cambios.
